DAQmx wait for trigger

Hello.

I am using a PCI-6733 with a BNC-2110.  I want to pause my program until I receive a trigger on PFI0, but I do not want to write to or read from the board upon receiving the trigger.  What is the appropriate way to setup a DAQmx task to do this?

Hi LRC,

You can use a pause trigger with the PCI-6733. The way it operates is when the Pause Trigger is active, no samples occur. You can find more information about it in the Analog Output Series User Manual, Chapter 3 about Analog Output. I don’t know what programming language you are using, but there are several examples that could be really helpful for your application. I suggest having a look at the “Cont Gen Voltage Wfm – Int Clk – Pause Trigger” example. If you are developing your application with LabVIEW you can find the examples going to Help > Find Examples.
