Data logger example does not recognize my PCI6024E card

Sorry, new to this and forgot to post my actual question so here goes...

I am using a PCI-6024E card and starting to see what I can do with it.

I am trying to write a data logging VI and so have started with the Simple Data Logger from the Examples library.  This VI uses the AI

Sample Channels.vi

When I try to select my DAQ device through the front panel, the channel listing does not come up.  Obviously I haven't configured something properly, but what ??  As far as I can tell, the DAQ works properly, ie it passes the self test and I can output and input some elementary signals.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

if the Data Logger example you are referring to is the one attached below, then you need to create a tast in measurement and automation explorer in order to use the program. You can create a task by right-click on Data neighborhood and selecting create new, then DAQmx Task and then everything should be easy to follow from there.
The task should then appear when you click on the drop down.
