Device not responding

Hello, I have a DaqCard 6062E on a laptop running Windows98. I use LabView 6.1.
When I installed the hardware and the software, everything went perfectly, but now when I run MAX to test the card before to run my VIs, I get more and more frequently the message "The device is not responding to the selected base address, Would you like to continue anyway Yes/No?"
Eventually, the error disappear and the test is OK,
but it seems random:sometimes, I don't need to reboot, sometimes I do need; sometimes pressing F5 to refresh is sufficient). In the Device Manager, no error is visible (no Yellow triangle with an exclamation mark).
What's the problem? What can I do?
Thank you, Philippe

Hi,

Can you place the card in the other PCMCIA slot, if possible, and see if the behavior persists. If not, then it could be some loose connection(s) in the bus pins. You can install the card on another PC, and test it there. The error you are getting is related to the operating system, not the card per say. The previous tests will tell whether the card or the PCMCIA slot is not working well.

Regards,
RamziH.

Thank you for your help. I reinstalled MAX, and it seems
to work fine now. So hopefully it was only a software issue.
