Device resetting

I have used DAQmx 4.2 and LabView 8.0 to run an application for well over a year without any issue. I am now trying to run a new application and am receiving an error about device routing/resetting (Error #89130). The channels of my device are not being detected. I received this message 2 days ago, but upon moving the computer back to the previous location it went away and the channels were in place. I was able to run the application all day yesterday and for a short while today without incident. I had to shut down this morning and upon restart the error was back. I tried to reset the device, but the option was grayed out which leads me to believe it has already been reset. We have a SC-2345 carrier with a SCC-SG24 module and a PCI-6221.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I am guessing either the application has been reset and it has not completed doing so, some kind of connection has been coming loose, or there is some kind of outside interference. If anyone knows of anything I can try, what could possibly be causing this problem, or anyhting else regarding this matter, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Wes

Hi Wes,

I do not think the location of your PC is the root cause of the problem, but you may want to ensure that all your connections are good.  I would first suggest trying the solutions in the article, KB 45HGAIJQ:  DAQmx Error Code -89130: Device is not Available for Routing.

Keep me posted on your progress

If there is a bad connection, where would it be? Is it saying that the connector block is unhooked? or is it somehwere else in the system? The odd thing is that it works sometimes and always works in the original location or if I turn it on in my office.

I never have the problem when the computer is in the old location, and the only differences in the setup is where the power is connected to. This leads me to believe there is either some kind of electrical problem or outside interefence.  Also, it will not let me attempt to reset in MAX, unless I am looking in the wrong place.

Hi Wes,

It sounds like you are moving your computer around quite a bit, this could be causing the PCI card to unseat, I would verify that the PCI card is seated properly in the slot. Also the cable from the SC-2345 to the PCI-6221 could be loose or depending on the power module you are using in the SC-2345 you could have a bad power source at the new location.  When you attempt to reset the device in MAX is there a red x on the device or any other indication that it is not functioning properly? or does it look like the attach picture only the reset device is greyed out.

To recap.
The Questions that I have are:
1. What power module are you using in the SC-2345?
2. Is the orientation of the PC changing (i.e. standing verses laying down)
3. Is all the cabling the same? and connections verified secure with no bent pins.
4. are the power outlets verified good in the new location? does the PC seem to have any other probelms?
5. Can you run test panels in MAX? if so do they give correct readings?

Thanks,

I was able to get through the problem by setting the device loader to automatic. I'm not sure why it wasn't setting to this upon startup (it does most of the time).

I'll let you know if I encounter the problem again.
