E-Series Diagnostic Utility gives Error 10243

Hi GDR,

Let's try one more thing... Browse to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX\Data and delete the whole Data directory. When you reopen MAX it will create a new directory and new config files. If you still do not see Traditioanl DAQ Devices, try refreshing MAX by pressing F5.

Let me know if this does not work.

Hi Sean C.

Deleting C:/Program Files/National Instruments/MAX/Data did not help, even after refreshing. Should I install LabView then uninstall?

Progress Report...

Uninstalled Traditional NI-DAQ 7.3.1 with msiBlast. Received message "Error 1641 occurred while uninstalling NIDAQ Traditional". Rebooted, then ran msiBlast to remove Traditional NI-DAQ and other listed after it. Shut down computer, removed card.

Started computer, installed Labview 7 Express Evalutation Software, with the 30 day evaluation period option. Restarted computer.

Installed Tradtional NI-DAQ & NI-DAQmx 7.3.1. Shut down computer. Installed card.

Restarted computer. Allowed Traditional NI-DAQ and NI-DAQ drivers to recognize card at start up. Ran MAX. Traditinoal NI-DAQ NOT listed under My System: Devices and Interfaces. Same old problem as before, no change.

Next Move: Uninstall EVERYTHING with msiBlast. Install only Traditional NI-DAQ. Hopefully there is a bad Labview file that will be removed.

Question: Are there any issues with Norton products or Medion computers? I try to keep the security software off, but it occassionally turns itself on.

Progress Report...

Uninstalled all NI software using msiBlast. Along the way I was asked to reboot the computer 6 times, which I declined. This resulted in 6 Error 3010 messages, but all appears to be removed. Shut down computer, removed card. Restarted computer.

C:/Program Files/National Instruments STILL EXISTS! Likewise the Registry Editor STILL shows National Instruments entries! I thought that the idea behind msiBlast was that it would remove ALL National Instruments software. Now I have defective software that isn't removed by its defective uninstaller or the defective service tool. Is reformatting the drive the only option? I've lost too many DAYS trying to fix this.

The third party software I'm running requires Traditional NI-DAQ. Version 6 has not been able to work at all. Version 7 Traditional NI-DAQ doesn't work. NI-DAQmx works but is not supported by my third party software. The card works with Traditional NI-DAQ in a borrowed computer. If I could go to a different computer or card I would, but these are not options.

Progress Report....

Thought I should finish the installation of Traditional NI-DAQ 7.3.1 after doing everything that I had been asked to do. No change. Futile day.

Next step: buy a new computer and hope it does better.
