ELVIS II compatibility

Isn't ELVIS II software compatible with ELVIS (I) hardware? I loaded the new software under VISTA and the hardware doesn't work. After loading an instrument I get "The physical channel specified does not exist on this device." The "Device" in the Instument control window shows and allows no input. MAX says the self test succeeds. Test Panels asks for a channel but I don't know which to test the DVM or some other input. Old software works fine with this hardware.

Hello,

The original "NI ELVIS" (ELVIS I) uses the NI ELVIS Software and is not compatible with the "NI ELVIS II" software, NI ELVISmx Software.  The Readme of the NI ELVISmx Software states also states this and I have pasted it in below.

The original NI ELVIS hardware is not supported. If you are unsure which version you have, "NI ELVIS II" is labeled on the prototyping board for NI ELVIS II. The original NI ELVIS is labeled "NI ELVIS" on its prototyping board.

Please continue to use the NI ELVIS Software with original NI ELVIS.
