Hi ilublessing,

This error is often caused by driver issues/corruption, as noted by this KnowledgeBase article. As a first step I recommend reinstalling/updating to the latest DAQmx driver version.

Provided you're using a windows PC with LabVIEW 2009 or later, the drivers can be found here (NI-DAQmx 9.6).

Please let me know if you are using any other platform or version of LabVIEW, or If this does not solve the issue.

I am having the same issue.  However, I am still trying to use labview 8.5.1 with windows 7 32-bit operating system.  Any known issues preventing this from working?  Or should i just reinstall everything.  Thanks.

Hi Tolo-Tech,

LabVIEW 8.5.1 is not supported for use with Windows 7 although this may not necessarily cause an issue. The earliest officially version supported for use with Windows 7 is LabVIEW 2009 SP1.

I would again recommend updating to the latest version of DAQmx drivers supported by your version of LabVIEW (In your case DAQmx 9.5.1, found here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2933/lang/en).

Failing that, it may be worth updating to a later version of LabVIEW.

Thanks Chris,

I have no problem upgrading to a newer version of Labview, however I have a very extensive list of programs that i have written in labview versions 8 through 8.2.1.  Will these run with Labview 2012?  I was unable to find version compatability/backwards compatability anywhere on ni.com.

Hi Tolo-Tech,

Please see the following white paper, which details what file versions will open in particular LabVIEW versions:

http://www.ni.com/white-paper/8387/en

As you can see, you should have no problem opening your files in the latest versions of LabVIEW.

Following this, minor changes only may be required.

Correcting my last post, the latest version of DAQmx supported by LabVIEW 8.5.X is actually DAQmx 9.3:
