Error message 201295

Hi,

I am having a 6353 DAQ. One of my output channels is not working. I am always getting an output voltage of 5 V in it, no matter I run a program or not. The device passes self test but when I am going to do the self calibration "error code 201295" appears. I attach the screen shot for reference. Can somebody suggest something.

regards,

Arijit

Hi Arijit,

Looking into it, that error is specifically for AO adjustment.  It seems that when that error is thrown we should also add some information to the error description itself that describes what exactly is failing.  Unfortunately, in MAX that doesn't look like it shows up.  Could you try Self Cal from LabVIEW or whatever development environment you use and give the entire error description?

That being said, at this point it seems like that AO channel (or its reference or something) is probably busted on your board.

Hi Zach,

Thanx for the reply. As suggested by you, I ran the self calibration on the device in Labview. The error shown is attached.

regards,

Arijit.

That is what I expected.  That error description indicates that ao2 failed gain adjustment.  The value description should have also shown what interval failed gain adjustment (ie 10V or 5V), but it doesn't seem to have done so.

One last thing to check is to make sure that there are no external signals connected to your board during self calibration.  If that is the case, then it seems convincing to me that ao2 is somehow bad on your board.  I'm not 100% sure how you get the RMA process started, but that is probably the next step.

Nopes, there was no signal connected to the board while doing the self calibration. Thank you for your suggestions.

We are seeing this error with some of our M and X series PCI DAQ cards. Below is the full description. I'm not sure whether or not the error shows up the same on all our devices that throw it..

Error -201295 occurred at DAQmx Self Calibrate.vi:1

Time: 2/21/2013 9:53:00 AM

Location: DAQmx task initialize

Possible reason(s):

Device could not complete the calibration operation.

Calibration could fail for the following reasons:

1. The actual reference signal applied for calibration was different from the value you specified. Ensure that the reference signal applied is the same as the values that were input.

2. The reference signal was not stable over the period of time that the hardware was being calibrated. Ensure that the reference signal specified is free of noise and does not drift over the duration of the calibration.

3. The device is not functioning properly.

Channel Name: 1

Value: k10V_10V_gain

By  "the same", I mean I'm not sure whether they all have a problem with the same channel and value.
