Failed to connect to Real-Time target

Hi

I have been using my cRio 9014 with 9104 and some 9237 modules for a while now. I've connected and disconnected several times. Now, all of a sudden, I get "Failed to connect to Real-Time target". Under Devices and Interfaces in MAX I get a VISA error, which obiously is because I don't have any connection. The power led on the controller is lit, both 10/100 and Link/Activity leds are lit, everything seems like normal.

I just compiled some vi's on the target, but didn't change the host running as startup. 

Any ideas?

I don't know why, but after restarting my pc, it connected at once. So now it's working.

But I'm still curious why this happened. Has anyone experienced something similar?
