File format no longer supported

I get this message when I load the VB examples. It happens when the controls are being loaded. This worked perfected up until about 30min ago. I have re-installed everything multiple times with no luck.
I am on an XP machine using VB 6

Hello

Sounds like the following error.

Im not sure how it suddenly could have become corrupt though.I know XP has that auto update capability and by default tends to go ahead and install updates for you, that might have done something, but Im not certain. I have not been able to reproduce a problem like this on my side.

Perhaps the project information might have become corrupt. Try dropping the control into a new project.
Generally, when I want to do an un-install, I go thru to make sure that I delete the ocx files after the uninstall goes thru.

Basically I un-install MStudio, unregsiter the cwui.ocx file (using regsvr32 /u) from the syst
em32 folder, delete the control, restart the machine, and then re-install.

This way I know a new copy of the control is installed.

I hope this helps

In the case of the daq control, you would be looking for the cwdaq.ocx file instead of cwui.ocx.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies.
I tried everything: unregistering the controls, new apps, unistalling all of the applications. I finally just gave up wiped the disk and started over. That did the trick.
