High voltage 0-5kV dc) DAQ

Looking for suggestions on a high voltage DAQ which can log at least 9 inputs of at least 4 different types (voltage, current, pressure and temperature). This would also require 3 high voltage control outputs. We will be using 3 SRS PS350 power supplies. Looking to record data throughout testing of our process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Error budget?

bandwith? DC or AC up to ???Hz

HV out: ON/OFF or analog, current rating? Or control the source?

Lab, field, industrial, medical?

Quick shot: cRio system

For the 5kV take a voltage input card with 1M input impadance and buy 1000:1 scope probes rated for this voltage and the needed bandwith. If only AC maybe a capacitive divider is possible.

pressure, temp depending on your sensors... no problem

Thanks for the reply Henrik. I've placed my comments below, next to your reply.

Error budget? - Error budget as in accuracy?

bandwith? DC or AC up to ???Hz - DC up to 20 HZ, not sure of the bandwidth needed yet

HV out: ON/OFF or analog, current rating? Or control the source? - Control the source

Lab, field, industrial, medical? - Lab/Electrical

Does the SRS Powersupply has a 488 (option 01) ? If yes, do you already have a GPIB 488 for your Computer?

Alternative you can control the output with a 0-10V analog signal.

What temperature/pressure sensors do you want to use?

Current: AC or DC , range?  referenced to Ground or high Voltage, galvanic isolation needed?

Hi Sam,

Dependent on your responses to Henrik's spec questions, we may be able to help you put something together for the current, pressure, and temperature.  My thinking with this is also a CompactRIO, which will allow you to use separate C-series modules for each of these measurement types and allow you to use nine or more channels that you'll be needing.

As far as the high voltage analog module/ card, we don't have anything that will go to 5kHz, so you'd have to find a way to bring that voltage down to whatever the range of the card is. We do have a DMM that has a range to 1000VDC, but it's for a PXI platform (PXI 4071) as opposed to the CompactRIO.

Like I mentioned, some additional specifications would be helpful for trying to find the right solution for you here.  If you'd like to speak with an account representative regarding which products may suit your needs and trying to find a solution that works for you, feel free to call us at 1-866-ASK-MYNI.
