Hi de_mayo,

 

If you can provide some more information regarding the sensor you're using, like the manual, then I should be able to help you out more. That being said, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use the inductive sensor in question with the 6210. You just need to figure out the connection configuration which is something that should be provided for in the manual of the inductive sensor.

Try a Google of your sensor part #, you will get lots of listings for the Balluf sensor of that number, complete with specs and wiring diagram. You will need a separate15 - 24 vdc power supply for the sensor. The signal output range will match ok with the analog input to your DAQ, but you might want to put a crowbar zener across the anaolg input, so that if your sensor fails and dumps the dc power supply across the DAQ input, the crobar will limit the volatage to the DAQ.
