How (or if) to use DAQCARD 700 in Labview 8

We have a DAQ Card 700 (as well as 500 & 1200) and can not track down a copy of Laview 6.9, we have the latest of version 8 and I have installed the NI-DAQ v6.9.3 driver support.  The Card is recognized, however I can not program it with a vi.  Can only labview 6 be used to physically program the DAQ card or is there another way.  Thanks for your help.

Hi,

You are correct in your assumption that the Traditional NI-DAQ driver is only compatible with older versions of LabVIEW.  If you are in need of portable DAQ devices, consider the NI USB-6210 and NI USB-6211.  Post back if you have any other questions.

We are actually using the DAQCARD on a pocket pc to record voltages from 8 accelerometers.  Is there any way to make it work that way, I tried using ni daqmx base 2.2 (as well as 1.x on labview 7.1) and still had problems.  Thanks for the reply.

Univ of Nev,

The DAQCard 700 is not supported by NI-DAQmx Base.  You must use NI-DAQ 6.9.3 to program the DAQCard 700 (see .  Unfortunately NI-DAQ 6.9.3 is not supported on a pocket pc so you may be out of luck.  NI-DAQmx Base only supports the devices listed in its readme:

  • NI DAQCard 6024E 200 kS/s, 12-bit, 16 AI channels, two AO channels, 8 DIO lines, two counter/timers
  • NI DAQCard 6062E 500 kS/s, 12-bit, 16 AI channels, two AO channels, 8 DIO lines, two counter/timers
  • NI DAQCard 6036E 200 kS/s, 16-bit, 16 AI channels, two AO channels, 8 DIO lines, two counter/timers
  • NI DAQCard AI-16E-4 (6041E) 500 kS/s, 12-bit, 16 AI channels, 8 DIO lines, two counter/timers
  • NI CF-6004 200kS/s, 14-bit, 4 AI channels, 4 DIO lines
  • NI USB-6008 12-bit, 10 kS/s, 8 AI channel, 12 DIO line, 1 event counter device
  • NI USB-6009 14-bit, 48 kS/s, 8 AI channel, 12 DIO line, 1 event counter device
  • NI USB-6501 24 DIO line, 1 event counter device
Let us know if you have any additional questions.
