How to Simulate Current Ouput

I am using a PXI-6704 to generate up to sixteen 4-20 mA signal outputs and it works great as a sourcing output.  Is there a way to use the PXI-6704 as a current “simulator,” which would require an external power supply?  For example, most 4-20 mA calibrator devices have both a “sourcing” and “simulate” mode.  We test display and control systems that uses many 2-wire mA output sensors and it would be nice to use the PXI-6704 without rewiring the system to delete the external power supply.

Hi Henrik,

This is a plausible solution that I'll have to think about.  Thank you for your response.
