Hi,
Where to find info on how to connect to the PFI terminals on a cDAQ-9171
Cannot find any info in the manual. No specification about such stuff which NI was good at in earlier days.
I want to use the PFI1 as output but what is voltage and max current it can source ?

The cDAQ-9171 doesn't have a dedicated PFI terminal. Digital lines on parallel digital C Series modules can be used as PFIs, but the voltage/current specs will vary based on the module; you'll need to consult the documentation for the module in question.

Ok, thanks
That explains a lot.
So I cannot get PFI1 to work as digital out when using a NI-9205 module?
According to the manual, 9205 PFI-signals are only available in "FPGA Interface mode" and that sounds like cRIO only.

That is correct. As per this KB article, the NI 9205's PFI0 can be used as a trigger input source, but it cannot be used to export signals in CompactDAQ systems. The 9205's DO0 channel is also not available in CompactDAQ.

Ok,
I understand. This is not fun.
We are looking for a very compact DAQ-solution for Ethernet with 1 digital trig input, 1 digital output and 8 analog inputs. Minimum performance is at least 5 kHz and 16-bit A/D. It is obviously not possible with this single slot chassis.
We have to go for a sb-RIO or switch to another brand of electronics ...
Thanks for your reply,
