How to connect two WLS-9163 so that one receives a signal from the other?

I have two WLS-9163 instruments.  One is equipped with the 9472 source module and the other with the 9421 sink module.  Both are set up with static IP addresses on an ad-hoc wireless network.  They both are able to communicate with a laptop on this same network without a problem.  My goal is to have the two communicate directly with each other without the computer relaying the message.  In other words, there are 8 channels on both the sink and the source module.  I want to set up the system so when one of the channels is on at the sink/transmitter it turns on the corresponding channel at the source/receiver with out an intermediate device such as a computer.  Is this possible and how can I do it?  Thanks!

Unfortunately it is not possible for the devices to communicate directly with each other.  You may want to take a look at Wireless Sensor Networks or using an Real Time controller connected to a wireless acess point; however, both of these options require additional hardware.  Can you elaborate on the need to get away from the computer?

Hi,

In my case, I want to connect wls 9163 to wap 3711. I have succeeded  Ad hoc  connection between wls 9163 and my laptop. I can even configure wap 3711 through Ethernet. But cannot connect 9163 and 3711.

IP address of both devices and my computer are in same sub class. I would be grateful to you if I get some valuable suggestion.

There were some performance issues hence the first thing I would try is upgrading the firmwareThis is a detailed document that refers to setting up the device.  Can you elaborate on what part of the process is unsuccessful?  Do you receive any errors?  The more information you can provide will give us a more clear understanding of the issue.  Screenshots of settings, errors, etc are also very helpful- thanks!
