How to send shut down signal using cDAQ 9205

In my applicaiton I need to acquire voltage reading from different power supplies. If the voltage read varies +/- 5% of applied voltage then a shut down signal to that supply needs to be send. How to send the shut down signal to supply using cDAQ 9205?

TIA.

Hi lvrat,

The 9205 is an analog input module, so it does not have any output capabilities.  Are you wanting to use the PFI lines on your chassis, or perhaps another C Series module to accomplish this?  What kind of shutdown signal do you need to send out? (e.g. 5 V TTL)

There are 11 channels on which the voltage needs to read between +/- 10V and 8 channels required to read current (0 to 10mA) .

For the shut down signal does the power supply needs to have the capability to recognize lets say 5V signal and turn itself off?

One channel per supply so if 5V signal is used then 11 digital output required. Which cDaq module provide these features?

For current module 9203 selected but says single ended, can more detail be provided for RSE and if differential module should be selected?

Thanks.

lvrat,

I think that I am still a little confused about your application.

Can you tell us:

1. How many analog input channels you need?

2. How many analog output channels you need?

This document has a good explanation of the difference between RSE and differential. I would especially take a look at Table 1 to figure out what would be best for your application.

One thing to note is that a differential measurement will take 2 analog input channels.
