I can not save my task in the NI-DAQmx Base Task Configuration Utility.

Hi G Lo,

I am using windows vista, and running labview 8.5.1, also with the touch panel module. I find that saving and exiting and then reopening gives the same results (i.e. configurations appear not to be saved), however as I mentioned I am now finding that the VI runs properly (with the tasks correctly configured), even though the task configuration utility tells me otherwise! So I am not too worried.

Thanks

Hi mstudio-

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.  I'm glad you were able to find a workaround for the behavior, but I agree that it is not ideal.

Along with the LabVIEW 8.6 release (and corresponding Mobile Module and Touch Panel Module), we have just released DAQmx Base 3.2.  If you can update your LabVIEW version along with these modules, you can use dynamic tasks with your device.  This allows you to dynamically create and clear the task rather than using the Task Configuration Utility.  In addition, you'll be able to perform all of your task configuration at run-time, rather than at compile-time, by adding the appropriate inputs to the front panel of your application.  The download page for DAQmx Base 3.2 driver is here.  Included in the new driver are several examples that demonstrate how to use dynamic tasks.

Please post back if you have any further questions.  Thanks!

Ed W.
