Recently I installed the NI 9265 analog output module in a cDAQ
9172 chassis. Currently the module defaults to 20mA output whenever the chasis power is turned on. I must have 4mA or less when the instrumentis turned on.
I encountered two articles refering to this problem and they propose two diferent solutions:
1st. Solution:
In some cases the NI 9265 in a cDAQ chassis will output full scale current (~20ma) on startup with DAQmx 8.6.0f6. This is an issue present in the DAQmx 8.5 driver as well.
The issue was fixed in DAQmx 8.6.12f and later. These drivers can be downloaded from drivers and updates in our website.

2nd. Solution:
Hi Mordeye,
From the specification the expected behavior is a power-on output current of 0.0 mA. It seems like it was an issue present in previous versions of DAQmx drivers but it has been fix in the new release. What I would suggest is to download DAQmx 8.6.f12, where this issue has been addressed.
I hope it helps

Both of these answers were posted toward the end of 2007 and I am wondering if there is any new fix for this problem.
If there is, Can I use it with LabVIEW 8.5? or do I have to upgrade the entire LabVIEW package?
Also can you be specific as to what update to download from the many available in the download site?
Thank you for your help.
Pablo.
