I need the driver for NI USB 6009 so my computer will recognize the USB

I have a power supply that connects via a National Instruments USB-6009 (with analog inputs) to a computer. The software to control the power supply was created by an engineer at my company who no longer works here. My computer recognizes when the USB is plugged in although it asks me to install the driver for the USB. When I try to run my company software it does not recognize the USB connection. Is there a driver or something I could download so that my computer recognizes the USB-6009?

Thanks.

Hello Robots,

The latest version of the driver for the USB-6009 is NI-DAQmx 8.7.1.  If you're using a version of LabVIEW newer than 7.1 then this is the version you want.  If you have an older version of LabVIEW then you'll need to check this KnowlegeBase article to find the correct version:  NI-DAQ & LabVIEW Version Compatibility (for Windows)

Once you know what version you need you can go to www.ni.com/download and click on Drivers and Updates to search for the correct driver.  After you download and install this driver Windows should be able to find the drivers and correctly identify your card.

I hope this helps, and have a great day.

Cheers,

Brooks

Hello, how are you?

I recently regained an old LabVIEW 12 license that I acquired as a student license when I purchased a DAQ-6009.

In 2016 I had the CD with the installers and drivers for the DAQ but I lost them.

I asked NI for version 12 installers, but I could only install LabVIEW. Do you know if there is a possibility to download the drivers to use the DAQ from LabVIEW?

Thanks a lot

I think it was in 2014 that NI decided to make the driver versions follow the year.  So you see a jump from 9.9 to 14.0 in the downloads.  However, I would use DAQmx 15.5.1, which is the last version of DAQmx that supports LabVIEW 2012.
