We are looking at purchasing a PCI-6259 board for use on a Linux machine. We would use NIDAQmx to access the card. If we decide to use only a few channels in order to boost the sampling rate, do I need to select specific channels?
For instance, the card rate is 1MHz. If I select channel 1 and channel 2, I can sample each channel at 500KHz. Could I select Channel 8 and Channel 13 and still be able to sample each channel at 500KHz? Or do specific channels need to be used when a subset of channels are selected?
Thanks,
-Tom

These cards have a single A/D converter and an internal mux that sends one of the 32 inputs to it. It doesn't matter which of the AI channels is selected, or what order they're read in. I think the only time you need to worry about pairing channels is when you take differential measurements, each channel has it's own pair then.
