Inconsistent IP Settings on WSN gateway. How can I manually change the IP or subnet mask system and network settings? There is nothing to click on-- no drop down menus, etc..

How can I manually change the IP or subnet mask system and network settings? There is nothing to click on-- no drop down menus, etc.. The 9792 gateway is connected to the host computer via a crossover cable. The system shows up under the Remote Systems configuration tree on the left, but I am not able to change anything at all. I've tried the DIP switches on the gateway, but nothing has worked so far.

Hello cstewart,

Thanks for your post.

What is your host computer configured for? Is it set to static or are you obtaining an IP address automatically? You should be able to select the Network Settings tab at the bottom and this page will allow you to change the IP address.

Also what is the status LED on the 9792 doing? Is it a solid color, doing a blinking pattern, no light at all?

Thanks!

The status light is blinking yellow (3 times), which indicates a software problem. The host computer is automatically configuring an IP address-- we aren't able to set it to static because none of the tabs allow us to make any changes. I think we are going to have to re-install the MAX software and start from scratch...

Hello cstewart,

Thanks for the post back.

Blinking 3 times means that the gateway is in safe mode and ready to be programmed. Also check the dip switches on the front of the gateway as it may be in the on position which will leave it in safe mode all the time. This means that the only thing you can do is install or un install software. 🙂

The best action is to move the dip switch to the off position and re install software. This should allow you to then be able to change IP settings and put a LabVIEW Real-Time app on the gateway.
