I would like to make a FET curve tracer. I assume it cannot be done with only one myDAQ, as I am not aware that you can generate on both channels at the same time.
Is it possible to use two DAQ devices, say a myDAQ and a USB-6008 DAQ, to generate the required VGS and VDS respectively?

Possible as long as current and voltage is within device specification. However, you cannot directly measure current with these device. You need to measure voltage across resistance, and that will effect the curve.

Understood, I would need to measure the voltage drop across a sampling resistor. I am surprised that nobody has made/designed a FET tracer already.. there seem to be plenty of designs for a simple 2-wire V-I tracer, and even a design for a three-wire bipolar transistor V-I tracer, but I don't understand why nothing for FETs.
Perhaps it is my inexperience.. I am only just getting my feet wet with Labview and the myDAQ device.
