Is it possible to repair a damaged NIDAQ card?

I have an NI DAQ-AI-16XE-50 card and I can't get it to send any signal out. I'm pretty sure the problem is with the pins in the card (towards the cables, not the computer itself). Several on one end are bent and don't line up the way they should. Is there any way to test that this is indeed the problem, or to repair this if it IS the problem? Otherwise I have to buy/install Windows 98 to use our old Omega card, and I really really don't want to do that!!!

Thank you so much,
Lelia

Hi Lelia,

While it does sound as if your E-series card is broken and the bent pins are causing the problem, it can be repaired. You will not have to do anything as drastic as purchasing a new operating system to run an older card- you can simply send the E-series card into National Instruments for maintenance. National Instruments repairs hardware through a Return Material Approval (RMA).  To arrange an RMA, you will need to call into technical support and talk to an NI Applications Engineer directly for troubleshooting and approval for return.  To generate a service request number and locate the correct phone number for technical support, please go to www.ni.com/ask and select Phone NI. The Applications Engineer you talk to will be able to complete your RMA.

Hope this helps, Mallori M
