Is it possible to view the VI files of an exe application?

I have an exe that my company is using for data acquisition and was written by a former employee.  As far as I know the company does not have a copy of the VIs, is it possible to view the code within the exe?  If not, what are my options?

When an exe is created, the diagrams are removed and once they are removed, there is no way get them back or to view the code. Your only option would be to rewrite the program if you can't find the original source code. The former employee should be tracked done and severely beaten if he didn't save a copy for his successors.
