Will I have any issues running two CompactDAQ's in tandem? I.E.. - one program talking to two units. The issue is that I need more than 16 AO's so I'm thinking that I can split the load between the two. I've only got one unit on hand so I can't test and see.
Thanks!

Chad,
Do you have particular hardware in mind? By this I mean are you referencing using two different cDAQ chassis with one computer and program, or simply multiple modules? There shouldn't be any issues using more than one of either of these with one system so long as you are able to detect each of them on the system. If you can help me understand more about the setup you have in mind I can confirm this for you, but I wouldn't expect you to have any issues with this.

I'm building a controls system for our testing lab and the basic issue I'm running into is that I need more than 16 analog outs. According to the NI website the cDAQ can't have more than 16 analog outputs per chassis. So I'm thinking of using two 9174's with each having a 9205 and a 9264. This gets me enough AI's and AO's to run my systems. I'm just wanting to verify that I can talk to both units from a single computer/program. I have a single 9174 sitting here, so I can't test trying to run two at the same time. I looked at going to a cRIO, but the cost difference is excessive. So that's out.
Thanks!

Chad,
That should work fine. I wouldn't expect you to have any issues running both 9174s from one computer so long as you have enough connections on the computer itself. The two chassis should be recognized separately on the computer and you would be able to access the channels/modules just like you do now with one 9174.

Great! That's just what I wanted to hear.
Thanks!
