Linux and PCI, serial, RS232 4 port

Dear All,

 

Please, how can I install this board (PCI, serial, RS232/485, isolated, 4 port) (185729D-01) in Linux (Debian 5.0)

 

I found this board in our lab and would like to use it in Linux.

Hi,

 

Debian is not supported by NI products. If you would like to use linux with NI products visit the following website to view what products works with linux and what linux distribution are supported by NI products.

The RS232 version of this board will work with kernel 2.6.30 and newer.  All you need to do is plug the board in and you should have 4 new serial ports.  Of course 2.6.30 is still in development so you would need to build a custom kernel yourself or try to find a deb package of one of the development kernels.
