MAX and instrumentation setup training resources

Hello,

We have a new technician within our test group. One of his responsibilities will be setting up instrumentation and tasks using MAX. He will not be using LabView. He needs some training, but I am having trouble finding a resource for instrument setup trainig. Our goal is to have hime proficient with MAX and with the abitity to setup any protocol, GPIB, serial, etc. Is there a resource out there that anyone can recommend, free or otherwise? Classis, online, books, whatever. Thanks for your suggestions.
