I'm trying to install a PCI-6251 on a computer running XP SP2. All freshly installed, yet unsuccesful.
F-Secure is causing the MAX database to get corrupted (as described
here and also
here).
When I disable F-Secure (allow all trafic) I can succesfully rebuild
the database (as described in the first link), however when I re-enable
the firewall (f-secure) the next reboot will cause the MAX database to
be corrupted again.
What kind of ports and protocols do I need to open in my firewall rules
in order to solve this problem. I've tried to find out by packetlogging
however I think loopback traffic (I suspect that to be the mechanism
used) is not logged, so it seems at least. I'm guessing a bit here.
