MAx too slow

Hi,

I was using MAx 4.0 under Windows XP and it took a very long time to open the application. It seemed to be hang-on. After that, I installed MAX 4.1 and at least it works, but anyway it needs a very long time to open the Devices (and etc) trees.
Do you know the reason?

In the same computer, I checked the Windows Event Viewer in order to look for errors in the application. I found the message below (I post it because perhaps you can find more information by following this error).

Thank you in advance,
Eugenio

Hi Eugenio,

I used to have the same behaivour. A thing could be, that the PC is a little bit older and you installed and deinstalled a lot of software. This slows a PC in gerneral down.
Other point is, what is slow for you - up to 5-10 sec it still might be correct behaivour. And this is quite a lot of time. A thing you could try is install the latest verion of MAX which is the 4.3. Maybe this will help.
But apart from that it is very hard to say whats wrong. I am quite sure, that if you install it on a clean system it would work much faster.

I hope this helps,
