Making a variable switch Va in the vi for 4140B for selecting operating modes

Dear Labview

Greetings. I have made a variable switch in the program that I have developed from the NI library for 4140B Pico Ammeter/DC Voltage source. However when I select a mode of operation out of the five modes, it takes its default value, which is DC or stair case up on the front panel of the instrument. This is confirmed but the corresponding LED that lights up. However, in the program the desired selected mode is shown.

I am here attaching the snapshots of the program, the library and the block diagram along  with the manual of the instrument. I am also attaching the program that I am made, its package named as 4140B as a zip file and the library for the instrument which I found on the website.

Kindly advise on necessary changes that I need to do for making the variable switch.

Thank you.

best regards,

I'm not exactly sure what behavior you are trying to achieve. From what it sounds like, if you set an illegal mode, the instrument defaults to DC mode. The problem is that your VI still shows the desired mode on the front panel?

Maybe the 4140 allows you to read the actual mode the device is in, and you could verify the mode after you write it?

I think I can apply a probe and see the output of the mode. I think the swtich needs further development as done in the library.

Can you suggest something?.

Best,

Karan
