LV7.1 setup on WinXP SP3, was working with traditional DAQ drivers, PCI-6024E and NI-5112 cards. Needed to upgrade to DAQmx 8.9 to run DAQmx driver for PCI-6024E card so as to run sample VI with continuous acquire. The problem is that the cards are not visible after ugrade.
Subject line says it all. Uninstalled old setup, installed (eventually) MAX4.5, DAQmx 8.9. PCI-6024E/NI-5112 cards not visible in MAX in either Traditional or DAQmx folders, but visible in Windows Device manager as healthy. NI-5112 did not appear in MAX, though there was a PXI System (Undefined) entry, and there's no PXI system in this machine. Took out NI-5112 to simplify, then followed the procedures of Document ID: 2HD9BP6, trying to resolve:
1) Uninstalling/reinstalling DAQmx 8.9 + MAX4.5 per the procedure of Document ID: 35FE4RVM, does not fix the problem, same as before.
2) Followed procedures of Document ID: 4GA9TOQA to reset the MAX database. Ran with no errors. Same problem as before.
Some details that might be relevant:
A) This setup. when working, had a DAQmx 9.0.2 installation on the machine. Not compatible with LV7.1 (figured that out after the install) but seemed harmless to leave it on after I dealt with an unrelated card-compatibility issue some years ago. Maybe not so harmless.
B) This setup, when working, had a MAX 5.0 installation on the machine. Was working with the Traditional DAQ setup and the PCI-6024E card, as well as an NI-5112 card. MAX 5.0 was uninstalled when I went to set up DAQmx 8.9.
C) The date and version of the driver for the PCI-6024E, from Device Manager, is 2.6.5f0, copyright 2011 - could the driver be too new to work with MAX 4.5?
D) Tried inital install of DAQmx 8.8, that's where the problem first appeared. Switched to DAQmx 8.9 after the trouble started, as I figured if I was doing uninstall/reinstalls, I might as well use the latest version that's still compatible with LV7.1
How do I get this machine back to a clean base so I can install DAQmx 8.9 and have my cards appear in MAX?
A ZIP with the Data and Last folders from the attempted MAX database corruption repair, and the MAX ni_support report file, are available on request.
Thanks

Hi Steve_Cahill
It looks like you have the right software packages installed. Did you see if the NI Device Loader is running? This document should run you through the process of restarting your NI Device Loader: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0819391CA91B3EB38625731D00024649?OpenDocument
There is no total system uninstall. You will have to go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to uninstall any NI software that you do not want.
