My USB-6008 was working fine and suddenly reads 10 times too small.

I had been using a USB-6008 for months with a high impedance amplifier to read thermocouple voltages.  One day, it suddenly started to read a factor of ten too small.  I checked it with a 1.5 volt battery and again the reading was a factor of 10 too small.  I replaced it with another USB-6008 using the same VI and the readings were correct.  I assume that this is a physical problem with the 6008.  Sounds like a dead resistor and I expect I will have to buy a replacement.  However, if there is a simple cost effective fix that would be a help.

Hello,

It sounds like you have done some good troubleshooting.  I am curious to clarify if you were using the high impedance amplifier when testing the 1.5 V battery.  It does not sound like you were, but I wanted to double check.  Please make sure all the software setting were the same.  If you have tested the same hardware and software setup with another USB 6008 then it sounds like the device will need to be repaired.  National Instruments can repair the device through a Return Material Approval (RMA).  To process a RMA, you will need to call into technical support for the approval.
