I was using DELL laptop with DAQ6036E card controlled by a LV8.0
program. It was working fine for overa year then the program crashed
because the DAQ problem. I checked the MAX and found the 6036E card not
working (had "X" mark under the device). Bought a new card, plugged in
but the same result. I though the MAX is in some weird state so I
deleted the card from the control panel and installed again and when
the computer is booted MAX did not recognized the card as if there is
no card. Is my PCMCIA card slot went bad?
Have you tried repair installing the DAQmx drivers on your computer? You can do that from the add/remove programs dialog in your control panel. If that doesn't work try a full uninstall and re-install.
Yes,, I removed and re-installed DAQmx and also upgraded MAX to 4.1
still no change. It appears that MAX does not read the PCMCIA slot at
all. When I unplug the card from the slot the MAX still shows the card
and I can not even delete the card from the tree. Plugging the
card into PCMCIA slot does not make any changes to MAX.
Do you have any other PCMCIA devices that you can insert to see if the actual slot is damaged? Alternatively, do you have another computer with a PCMCIA slot to test the NI card?
