NI 5112

Hi,

I am measuring the output frequency of 100Hz and 6 Volts amplitude from NI 5112 using niScope EX Getting Started.

I was getting an output of 6 volts amplitud in y axis and some value range from -14.99m to 14.99m in X axis

How am I change to frequency range in X axis from niScope EX Getting Started example.

The second question is  reqaring a pulse signal from beep button. According to the first problem, it seems my test panel on
MAX has no problem at all cause it can get 6 volts voltage. I used the same BNC and same computer. This time I used a
test fixture with a analog output of 4.8V amplitude short pulse waveform. I set +-10V for my range of my MAX test panel.
I set channel 0 and 1000 sampling rate. I used continous mode for this type of short pulse signal and I can not choose auto
scale because the wavefore look irregular unitl I chose full scale. it become a O volt straght line ouptut. THen, I turn on my
test fixture and hit reset button to everything. Then I hit start button on my MAX. I hit start button, that will now start working
for my test fixutre. After some period of time, I hit beep button to measure the short pulse waveform. Normally, it will
have 4.8V short pulse waveform from the oscillocope. But I could not see anything change from my test panel. why?
Do I need ot set trigger for this waveform

Wang,

Regarding changing the scale of the NI-SCOPE Getting Started EX. Try putting a configure vertical after the auto setup vi.  This will allow you to change your scale.  I am not sure I understand your other problem. Perhaps you could elaborate a little further as to what exactly the problem is and we can try to help.  Thanks and have a great day!

Hi,

1) What is Try putting a configure vertical after the auto setup vi? I could not find it. Could you tell me the direction?

2) I have waveform. The Max. Voltage is 6Volt. The time domain is 10 microsecond per division. How can get this

wave form from the test panel and my  niScope EX Getting Started program..Do I need to change number of sample value?

How? I could not change it

Wang,

Try using the NI SCOPE EX Configured Acquisition.  Make sure that your vertical range is set to at least 12 in your case and also that your input impedance is set correctly.  This should allow you to see your signal correctly.

Hi Irallen,

I used the NI SCOPE EX Configured Acquisition vi. The problem is I could not change the value of my vertical axis. I changed the vertical

value to 12V and my ohm either 0ohm or 1 Mega ohm. The signal I got was running very fast from 0.1 to -0.1 V. Actually, I tried to change

the maximum value of the y axis of the waveform graph to 6V and the minimum value of the x axis of the waveform graph to -6V. It let me

changed but all of the sudden, the signal immediately back to the orginal signal from 0.1V to -0.1. THe signal goes very fast. Is there any

way to change the y axis as a oscillocope form -=2 to 8V and the x axis to 10 micro second per division. The signal was not going that fast.

How could I adjust in this vi? I did it sucessfully one time when I changed it the waveform garph. But after I tried to run the vi again. I could not

changed the value of y axis anymore. Could you tell me how to change and make the single go slowly.

Wang,

It looks like you just need to turn off the autoscaling of the y-axis.  Right click on the y-axis of the graph display and go to Y Scale and uncheck Autoscale Y.  This will allow you to set the range of the graph.  I hope this helps.

Dear Lon,

I tried to uncheck the autoscale of y axis. It was sucessful.

Then, I started to measure my shock voltage waveform. I set 12 volts for my vertical and adjust from 6V to -6V in my y axis scale.

I hit run command. I could not get the shock pulse voltage waveform. Remeber my shoce pulse voltage waveform was appear

at 1V/div and 10 microsecond per division and the M pos was 0s on the scope. It will appear like a hill wavefrom for a few second and

then go to zero volt after I hit my beep button on my test fixture.

I tried to set my sampling rate at 1K, 10K, 1M, 10M, 12M, 15M and so on. sometimes I got get a little bit hill waveform and it disappear

quickly. Not like oscillocope, the oscilloscope will appear for a few second and stay in the same position after I hit the beep button.

What is the reason why I could not get this shock beep pulse waveform? Is it my setting on the niScope EX Configured Acquisition?
