NI 9219 thermocouple measurement

Hi there,

I 've been working on measuring the temperature of the sample which is placed in a furnace.

I am using a K type thermocouple and the temperature range seems okay.

According to the instruction, i am supposed to insert positive end and negative end of the thermocouple into NI9219, however, which one is positive and which one is negative?

In addition, i have K type connector and K type thermocouple wires, do I need to use the connector or just those wires would be fine ?

K-type thermocouple wires should be fine. If the connectors fit into the 9219, then go with that. I am not sure if anybody will be able to tell what wire is positive and what is negative. You can insert whatever side into the 9219 and if the readings are not right, just switch over 🙂

Normally the isolation of the TC wires are color coded. One Ref here

(and might be noted on the connector)
