NI 9375 is not detected

Hi guys, 

I am a newbie, I am currently learning how to play with Labview. I got the NI 9375 and I try to control (simultaneously) to motors. The NI 9375 has a VGA connector 15pins. I am using a converter VGA to serial. The device is not detected: I tried a straight, serial and serial to usb but none of them seems to work. Can you please help?

That module is for insertion into a cDAQ chassis or cRIO, not for a direct connection to a computer:

Thanks for the prompt response!! So unless I have a chassis I will not be able to use my DAQ is that correct? My application requires 24V I/O any suggestion of a model with direct control?
