Hi,
I am Sri from SIMtech, Singapore. I need to drive a voice coil (Load) with a current from 0.8 to 1.1 A . I am using NI DAQ 6024E (pin 21, DC analog out put voltage) to out put the desired voltage and I also use a 2.4 ohm resistor attached in series to the load to get the desired current. Some how it is not working.
1) Is it possible to get or measure a current of 1 A as analog output?
2) What is the Maximum current I can measure?
3) How many ohms resistor I must use?(I used 2.4 Ohms).
4) Where should I connect the resistance? I connected in series to the load in the following fashion:
(DAQ pin 21)+ve --> load --> resistor ---> GND(DAQ pin 54)
Is this right?
Please inform me.
Regards,
Sri.

Sri,
According to the specs for this device https://www.ni.com/docs/en-US/bundle/370719c/resource/370719c.pdf , it is capable of driving 5mA max. Nowhere near the current that you desire. You have several options. You can build up some custom circuitry using an external pass device or you can use an external power supply that is controlled by your LV program.
