NI DAQ devices playing external csv files

We develop new test station for our product and need generator / simulator D->A which

  1. play external csv files, containing raw data .
  2. has 2 AOs should support signals from 0 to 5 VDC.
  3. Accuracy - 12..14 bit

Can anybody advise if we can use one of the NI DAQ devices for such purpose ?

  1. Not out of the box, you have to create an application that can read your CSV and send the data to NI DAQ using drivers
  2. Yes, possible
  3. Quite low, but most are 16-bit (better than you ask for)

Do you have any budget limit? how about the connectivity - USB, PCI, PXI?

Hi, of course we understand, that need to develop Labview module which will read raw data in CSV format and send the waveform data to NI DAQ using appropriate drivers. I suggest to use low cost DAQ of USB-600x series. Resolution 12...14 bit should enough for our purpose to simulate slow signal.

can you recommend some particular device ?

You did not mention of sampling rate needed, looks like all the low cost DAQs only support software timed AO generation.

The more you explain your application and requirement a more appropriate DAQ can be suggested or you would make a wrong investment. So far based on what you described, USB-6001 could be a cheapest solution.
