NI-DAQmx

I think that I have DAQmx installed on my computer, ( it shows up in the add/remove programs) but the DAQ assistant does not appear on the input pallet. I also have the ability to configure a channel using DAQmx from the "main menu", but I can not use it to create a VI.

It sounds like you may not have installed the DAQmx driver, since it does not exist in the Input Pallet. Or it may just be that when you installed the driver, something may not have gotten installed correctly.

Do you see the DAQmx VIs under All Functions >> NI Measurements >> DAQmx Data Acquisition?

Try and see if you can find and run any DAQmx shipped example. They are located at Help >> Find Examples >> Hardware Input and Output >> DAQmx. If you cannot find any DAQmx examples there, then it confirms that you do not have the DAQmx driver and you will need to install the DAQ driver.
