NI USB-6002 question on how to measure potentiometer using 5Vdc on-board "digital" source

Hi All,

I am wanting to read four (4) potentiometers into the 4 Analog Inputs on-board the 6002 DAQ unit.  However, lacking another source of voltage, I was hoping to possibly use the +5VDC "digital" voltage pin.  HOWEVER, I'm not sure if the return GROUND (D GND) for this digital source is the same as the "A GND" ground.  Are they tied together internally perhaps?  Or, is there a way to set up this unit so that you can use the on-board 5VDC digital with the "Analog-side" of the unit?

Bottom line is that I'll need to put an AI+ and AI- wiring into each analog reading pin.

If they are different, I guess i'm going to have to provide the potentiometers with an external voltage source?

Thanks,

Hendrik

Dear henrik

Could you please do a test on your hardware usb 6002 and answer my following issue

I am going to buy NI USB-6001 and using it in Data Aquisition Toolbox Matlab 2016a,

I need to know is it possible simoultanously to use Analoge input and analog output ?
