NI USB 6221 Not detected at XP startup

Solved!
Go to solution

hi,

Got a USB6221 which works briliantly.

The problems is I have to either power cycle the device or remove and re-insert the USB cable to get the device detected when I start windows XP.

Looking at the Device Manager, the action mentioned above kicks off "Data Acquisition Devices" and there are no further problems....until I switch off the pc and startup the following morning!

Incidently, "Data Acquisition Devices" are automatically detected on a PXI system with a built in controller.

Has anybody else had this problem?  Can anybody offer a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Hi Dave,

I've had a search for previously reported issues of a similar nature and found a common factor of this problem being associated with the BIOS needing to be updated, and particularly connected to HP and Compaq computers. What exactly make/model is your PC/laptop?

What version of DAQmx do you have? We resolved a similar issue in DAQmx 9.0.2.

Thanks,

I am having a similar issue.With a PCI-6221 & PCI-4462

XP can see my cards, but I cannot initialize them in LV!

I can see the cards in Device Mgr, as well as in NI-MAX.  However, on a difference PC in our factory (different cards as well) the info displayed in MAX is different.

I thought this might be because I am using NI-DAQmx 9.4 (I tried updating from 9.3.5), where the factory is using version 8.x

I am using a Dell, running XP.

Any help would be appreciated.
