NI-USB 6259 How to disable Analog output- put in high impedabce mode

I want to connect AO to a device pin which can be input or active output. Can I disable the output when the device is sourcing voltage (and measure the signal with AI)?

Hi Dimo,

I've had a look into this and from what I can find disabling the output will not switch it to a high impedance state. I think the best solution for this would be to connect a relay to one of the digital outputs and control whenever to disconnect the AO from your device when the device is sourcing.

Kind Regards,

I can confirm that the AO lines do not have a high impedance state.  Driving the lines externally can damage them.  Jason's recommendation of an external relay is probably the best route to take.

Thanks Jason and Seth, will try relay or mux.
