Hello,
I have a question about NI USB-6289. I use this datalogging system and the NI SignalExpress Software to measure peak-to-peak noise on a sensor signal line.
Only the peak-to-peak value is important to me, I don’t need to have more information about the noise.
The value of the noise can be any frequency between around 10KHz and 18GHz.
We’re actually performing testing according to a specific EMC standard and we have to perform frequency sweeping.
I used a 1kHz recording frequency and switched off the low-pass filter in SignalExpress. I know using 1k logging frequency will not make me able the get effects of 1k multiples noises but it’s ok like this.
Do you think NI-USB-6289 is the right device? I’m afraid high frequency could be filtered by the device.
Thank you for your help

Hello brijjak,
If you switch off the low pass filter, then the bandwidth becomes 700kHz (see http://sine.ni.com/ds/app/doc/p/id/ds-24/lang/en).
So in this case the high-frequency noise will be filtered away.
