NI6210 pinout connection with my device enquiry

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am currently trying to connect a device to NI6210, however I am not sure which wire goes to which pinout.

At the moment, I only know that I have to configure the NI6210 into RSE mode.

It would be extremly grateful if someone could give me some help.

Following pdf attachment contains my device's wire numbering.

Kind regards,

Adi

Hello Adi,

I have found a few documents that I believe you may find useful when wiring up your sensor, they are the National Instruments Field Wiring Guide and also How to Measure Voltage with National Instruments Products. Please let me know if these documents help.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply. In the pdf file I uploaded, I am not sure where cable no.10, 11 and 21 goes to. It would be grateful if you could spend a bit of time to take a look of the pdf file and give me some guidance.

I am assuming that my device needs a 9-14V supply according to the documentation, where NI6210 doesn't provide analog output supply, hence I need separate supply. Am I correct?

Kind Regards,

Adrian

Hello Adrian

The NI 6210 has a 5V pin (10) from which can supply small devices such as opto-couplers, as your device requires between 9-14V you will need an external supply. You can find the pin outs for the NI 6210 on page 12 of the specifications sheet.

As for the data sheet of your device, listed in Table 5 cable signal numbering you will notice on the left most column under pins 10, 11 and 21 there are references to AC1, AC2 and S_GND. Just under the table is an explanation of what AC1, AC2 and S_GND represent. Please refer to the device pin outs of the NI 6210 and the other documentation I have provided to correctly wire your device.
