AT-MIO-16X using NI-DAQ5.1 on Win98
I am setting up a spare board after one failed in system - the first board reported failed when the Test Resources button was pressed.
A second board was tried in this system, with no success.
When setting a second (similar PC specs) system up (it had been shelved), the referenced directories are not being created during
the installation of NI-DAQ and board. If I install and set the board up as previously configured, matching the address/irq/dma channels,
the resource test reports "Not responding to the first IRQ". (No conflicts with resources reported.)
After reading other postings (searched forums/knowledgebase, etc.), I tried setting only the base address, and the resource test passes.
Unfortunately, when set up in this manner, the AIO and DIO seem to work but the sinewave generator (test resources again) does not -
nor does waveform generation in our application.

Hello James,
Have you made sure to follow all of the steps in Chapter 2 of the AT-MIO-16X User Manual? Did you make sure to set the base address of the replacement board to the same value as the original board?
Are you also making sure that you are using supported interrupt lines and DMA channels? The list of supported lines can be found here.

(Sorry about the cross post)
I have ensured that all system parameters are valid and produce no conflicts - following instructions from the manual/ni-daq documentation and kb articles and forums.
When I reinstalled and tested the board, I got 'failed' for the resource test from ni-daq. I saw one post in the forums regarding a similar problem, where there was an incorrect
problem reported from this test (for a base address I think; sorry - didn't record the index# of it). At any rate, I altered the settings in device manager to only specify
the base address and the resource test now passes. Unfortunately, the analog output (sine wave) does not work from the test panels, nor does our app generate a waveform.
I have uninstalled, cleaned out the files, scoured out the registry and started from scratch to no avail. During this is when I looked at the registry and noticed the lack of entries under ISAPNP.That lack, plus the test passing but (presumably interrupt driven) lack of waveforms made me unsure about the status of the board.
Thanks for the response

Hello James,
Have you tried running NI-PNP? This utility will set up ISAPNP on your system. The following KnowledgeBase article describes this in detail:
