I loaded NIDaq 8.7.2 onto a laptop that is running XPe (It is the XP build of XPe though). When the system goes to shutdown/restart first The error message appears nipalsm.exe the instructin a 0x7c350440 refrenced memory at 0x0000000 (null refrence error) and the entire OS freezes completly. After I hold down the power button, restart the computer and I then recieve the blue screen of death saying there was an unrecoverable error in nipalk.sys. I hold down the power button restart the computer and it boots fine. (well until I need to shut it down again).
Can someone please help me out with what is going on here...

Hey Matt,
I've got a few questions for you that should help us troubleshoot this further:
1. What hardware (if any) is currently installed on this machine?
2. Does this error and blue screen happen every time you try to shut down the machine?
3. What exactly do you mean when you say that the laptop is running XP Embedded but it is the XP build of XP Embedded?
4. Is there a particular reason why you are using 8.7.2 instead of 8.7.1 on your system? XPe is only supported by DAQmx 8.7.1. Here's a link where you can download this driver:http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/fn/p/sn/n19:Windows.WinEmbedded (There's also a detailed document included on the download page that details how to integrate the components into an image)

1. Currently I have a 6024E installed on the machine
2. This happens everytime.
3. What I mean by the XP build of XPe is that the version of build of XPe includes all the same components as the normal XP OS
4. Ahhhh I see I did not realize that there was a special version of Daqmx for XPe. I will try this thank you!
