PCI-1200 & Lab View 7.1 ?

I have LabView 7.1 and I am tryin to get my PCI-1200 card to work with it.
According to this page:

I have donwloaded and installed NI-DAQ 6.9.3 and the appropriate drivers for my card. The card shows up in the Measurment & Automation explorer but there is no "DAQ Assist" in LabView itself, under the "input" category.

Does labview 7.1 need DAQ 7.x? If so how come (http://www.ni.com/support/daq/versions_pci_pxi.htm) has 6.9.3 listed for pci-1200?

What am I doing wrong here ?

the PCI-1200 is a legacy card and NI does not support it any more. The last version of Nidaq to support it is 6.9.3.
LabVIEW 7.1 requires Nidaq 7.X and above.

You will have better luck if you use an earlier version of LabVIEW (6.02, or 6.1).
or, you may simply, replace the card with an M/E series card, and use LV 7.1

Buying another card is not in my budget right now, i guess i'll have to use LabView 6.xx

Hi Boris-

It is actually possible to use older versions of NI-DAQ with LabVIEW 7.1. 

Please keep in mind that while this solution will likely work, it is not recommended for several reasons. First, LabVIEW 7.x does not officially support this driver (and therefore NI does not support this configuration). Also, having NI-DAQ 6.9.3 installed will remove the possibility of using the enhanced functionality of DAQmx and you will be unable to use any M Series cards because they are only supported by DAQmx.

Of course the other options are to either upgrade your card or to use the older version of LabVIEW.
