PCI-6014 with LabView 6i Student Edition

I just purchased a PCI-6014 DAQ card to use with LabView 6i. I tried using it under LabView and ran into the problem that the interface vi's for this DAQ require code interface nodes. After searching, I found that the student edition has its own version of NI-DAQ, so I installed that. However I was not able to access the older version of Measurement and Automation explorer (v. 2.0) until I uninstalled the new version (2.2) that came with the DAQ card. Then the card would not show up in V2.0 of M&A Explorer so I tried reinstalling it. However that required reinstalling the new version of NI-DAQ and M&A Explorer, so I am back where I started. My question is simply: how do I use the PCI-6014 under LabView 6i Student Edition??

Hello Glenn,

Unfortunately you will not be able to use the PCI-6014 board with LabVIEW 6i Student Edition. The LabVIEW 6i Student Edition ships with NI-DAQ 6.8. One of the constraints of this student edition is you cannot upgrade the version of NI-DAQ. Since the PCI-6014 was released after NI-DAQ 6.8 it is not supported in that driver version. I recommend that you upgrade to the new LabVIEW 7.0 Student Edition or purchase a licensed version of LabVIEW. These versions will come will an NI-DAQ version that supports your board.
