PCI-6221

I've installed a PCI-6221 and the device manager says "DEVICE NOT STARTED [CODE 10]", which seems to be Windows-speak for "I don't know what's wrong, but I won't work".

The PC is a HP dc5750 microtower with WindowsXP SP2. The processor is an AMD athlon 64 at 891 Mhz.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The card was in service in a Dell and worked fine. I've returned it to the Dell and put it back in service until I can get this resolved.

Thanks

Hi,

This is a known issue with some HP computers.  Please see the following knowledgebase article :

Why do my National Instruments PCI Devices Receive Error Code 10 in the Windows Device Manager?

As the article suggests -

Please ensure that:
  1. You are using the latest BIOS for your machine.
  2. You are using the latest National Instruments drivers for your device.
  3. Download and apply the Core Driver Update from ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/cdu/ni-cdu1121.exe. This should only be needed if the latest NI Drivers or BIOS for you machine do not resolve the issue.
